Meditations Offered

Meditation to Open Your Heart – Feelings of hurt, sadness, loss, anger, grief, and betrayal that arise in response to the many losses, setbacks, and disappointments we experience in life accumulate in the heart, lungs, and chest cavity. Over time, this buildup can create a sense of numbing or deadness, diminishing your capacity to love. This powerful meditation helps digest these layers of accumulated emotion, allowing you to become more open and present, increasing your capacity to give and receive love.
Meditation to Heal Your Heartache – This meditation is especially powerful for anyone going through a breakup or divorce, those who have been ghosted, and anyone struggling with patterns of abandonment or other attachment wounds. It teaches you to embrace the devastation of heartache as an opportunity for deep healing and transformation. By digesting the painful relational drama—along with the sadness, grief, and fear of loss—you facilitate the healing of the wounded parts of yourself. As this happens, you naturally become drawn to, and attract, healthier companions with whom you can co-create more meaningful and deeply fulfilling relationships.
Meditation for Problem-Solving and Workable Solutions – When faced with overwhelming challenges or even difficult and confusing situations and interactions, it’s easy to feel scattered, reactive, and uncertain about how to move forward. This meditation helps to bring clarity by engaging the deeper, solution-oriented parts of the brain-mind. Instead of being consumed by stress and uncertainty, you learn to sit with your circumstances, process the emotions they stir up, and access the inner resources needed to respond effectively. By immersing your awareness in the depths of your emotions and bodily sensations, you begin to diffuse anxiety and overwhelm, allowing clarity and insight to emerge naturally. Practicing this consistently not only helps you to navigate the immediate challenges but also prevents unprocessed stress from accumulating, keeping you more grounded, resilient, and capable of making the best possible decisions.
Dissolving the Layers of Emotional Body Armor – Over time, chronic stress, trauma, and unresolved emotions build up in the body, creating layers of muscular tension and rigidity, especially in the neck, shoulders, and back. This practice brings deep awareness to these areas, allowing you to soften, release, and dissolve stored tension. As the body unwinds, emotions held within these areas naturally rise to the surface, giving you the opportunity to process and integrate them—leading to greater freedom, ease, and emotional clarity.
Brain Healing & Cognitive Boosting Meditation – Originally developed for individuals recovering from stroke or traumatic brain injuries, this practice facilitates deep healing within the brain while supporting the healthy functioning of the body’s internal organs. Over time, it has also proven to be highly effective for enhancing cognitive abilities, sharpening focus, and improving mental clarity. Whether you're looking to recover, optimize brain function, or strengthen neural pathways, this meditation engages the mind-body connection to restore balance and promote long-term cognitive health.
The Instinctual Mind Meditation – Most people are not all that present in their bodies. In addition, many hold a great deal of stagnation—unprocessed stress, emotions, and physical toxins—within the abdomen. The Instinctual Mind practice is about bringing awareness to the abdomen, and in doing so, helps cleanse the body of stagnation. Bringing awareness deep within the abdomen increases presence, enabling you to become more fully embodied. It also helps to develop intuition and the deeper instinctual awareness that brings clarity about purpose and direction. Awakening this part of yourself allows you to experience much deeper levels of intimacy. The Instinctual Mind practice also supports gut health and, when practiced consistently, can help alleviate symptoms of digestive disorders such as ulcerative colitis.
Walking Meditation – Back in my twenties, at my most vulnerable, I created my own version of walking meditation. The form of walking meditation I teach is especially valuable for those carrying deep traumatic wounds or feeling overwhelmed. It helps to diffuse the intensity of emotions, making them more manageable and easier to digest. Not only is it profoundly calming, but it also grounds you in your body and is particularly helpful for those who want to meditate but struggle with sitting still.
Permeability – A practice focused on allowing overwhelming emotions to flow through you rather than getting stuck in them. This is especially valuable for those dealing with trauma, emotional overwhelm, or life circumstances that feel too much to bear. By learning to remain open and allowing emotions to pass through you, rather than resisting or suppressing them, the intensity begins to diffuse—making it easier to cope, process, and move forward with greater clarity and resilience.
Chi Gong – Chi Gong is an ancient practice developed over thousands of years that cultivates chi, or life force, strengthens the internal organs and the body as a whole, and calms the mind through a combination of breath, movement, and focused awareness. The practices I teach help clear stagnation from the body, reducing stress and fatigue while improving circulation and vitality. Practicing Chi Gong also deepens presence, enhances body awareness, and builds greater strength and resilience, making it easier to navigate life’s challenges.
Deep Level Processing in the Here and Now – This eyes-open meditation teaches you how to work effectively to digest both lived experiences and emotional responses while staying fully anchored in the present moment. The practice awakens your senses and cultivates a deepened connection to both your inner state and the world around you.
Over the years, I've developed so many variations of these meditation practices to meet the diverse needs of the people I work with. Each of these practices awakens the innate healing intelligence residing within your body and mind. As we work together, I’ll guide you through the meditation practices best suited to your individual needs.

My Lineage

My healing journey began in adolescence. At twenty, I began my training with Horace Daukei, one of the last surviving traditional doctors of the Kiowa Tribe of Oklahoma. Horace transmitted portions of his own healing gifts to me and then sent me out on the vision quest—a traditional Native healing practice of fasting alone in the mountains for four days and nights without food or water—to earn the right to work with these gifts. Since then, I have continued to return to the Wichita Mountains for the vision quest in the spring and fall.
In 1992, I began seventeen years of intensive training with Chinese Master Shifu Li Tai Liang in the Taoist internal martial arts of Xin Yi Quan, Baguazhang, Tai Chi, and Chi Gong. This foundation helped me develop internal strength, deep body awareness, and a practical understanding of how these practices facilitate healing and transformation—something I now integrate into my work with others.
In my mid-twenties, the resurfacing of childhood and adolescent trauma led me to develop an intensive series of meditation practices that activate the body and mind’s innate healing intelligence. These practices facilitate the digestion of one's lived experiences and emotions, transforming pain into fuel for growth and, in the process, cultivating greater resilience.
For over three and a half decades, I have worked with thousands to facilitate the healing of bodies, minds, broken hearts, and other trauma and deep emotional wounds, while helping them increase their capacity to love and be loved, realize their true potential, and fulfill their life’s purpose.
