Questions and Answers
While my articles and videos provide valuable insights, real progress in meditation often requires direct guidance. Those with extensive meditation experience may be able to apply my suggestions independently, but in my experience, most individuals initially struggle to navigate their inner terrain without support. Personalized sessions allow me to address your specific challenges, refine your technique, and help you move past obstacles that self-guided practice may not resolve.
Many of the people I’ve worked with over the years have told me that, when working with me, they’re able to access emotions they couldn’t reach on their own—an essential step in healing deep emotional wounds. Beyond that, they find themselves entering much deeper states of meditation than they initially thought possible. This isn’t just about guidance; it’s similar to the phenomenon of sympathetic resonance—where striking one tuning fork causes another nearby to vibrate. Because I am able to access profoundly deep meditative states, I naturally draw others into these deeper states as well, allowing for a much more powerful and transformative experience.
Many of the people I work with have little to no experience with meditation, yet most catch on quickly. Even those who have meditated for years—attended meditation retreats or received formal instruction in Vipassana and other Buddhist or Yogic traditions—find that my approach helps them in ways they hadn’t experienced before. My work focuses on deep embodiment, allowing practitioners to move beyond intellectual understanding and truly connect with their body and emotions in a way that facilitates profound healing and transformation.
Being totally honest—more than ever before, many of us are finding it difficult to focus our attention for any significant length of time. Digital media is rewiring our brains, altering our neurochemistry, and making it harder to engage deeply. Add to that the relentless demands of modern life, and it’s no surprise that consistency feels like a struggle.
Another factor is that many people have been taught meditation practices that don’t address their specific needs. If a practice isn’t helping you navigate your emotions or cultivate deeper awareness, it’s understandable that you’d lose interest.
Ultimately, in this age of distraction, it’s up to each of us to make a daily commitment to do what it takes to achieve real transformation. The practices I teach aren’t just about sitting still—they engage the body, emotions, and mind in a way that makes meditation feel relevant and essential, rather than another task on your to-do list.
Sessions typically last around two hours. That may sound like a long time, but people often tell me the time passes so quickly, it doesn’t feel like two hours at all. For those who prefer, I also offer shorter sessions—an hour or even 45 minutes.
The frequency of sessions depends on your individual needs. If you're in the midst of a crisis—whether it's a breakup, a major life transition, or emotional overwhelm—some people find that two sessions a week provide the support they need. Most people initially start with weekly sessions, while those who have worked with me for an extended period—sometimes years—often schedule sessions on a monthly basis.
Your needs will naturally evolve over time. As we work together, we’ll determine the frequency that best supports your process.
This is completely normal. A common misconception about meditation is that you’re supposed to stop your thoughts altogether—but that’s not even possible. Your mind will always be active to some extent. The key is learning how to shift your focus.
I’ll teach you how to bring your awareness to your breath, as well as the feelings and sensations in your body. As you do this, you’ll often find that your mind naturally begins to slow down. But there will also be times—especially in the midst of a crisis—when your thoughts are racing. In those moments, I'll teach you how to work with your thought processes rather than fight them, helping you access and process the highly charged emotions driving your thoughts. This allows you to move into a calmer, more resourceful state where you can come up with creative, workable solutions to address your needs and current circumstances.
No special equipment is needed—just a comfortable place to sit. I generally prefer to have people sit, as it’s easier to remain focused. Having a quiet space is helpful, but not always necessary. There have been times when I’ve taught people to meditate in less-than-ideal circumstances—like when the babysitter flakes at the last minute, and you’re meditating with a child asleep in your lap. The key is learning to work with your environment rather than seeing it as an obstacle.
The vast majority of people can’t help but notice the difference—stress begins to dissolve, anxiety, frustration, and other distressing emotions dissipate, and there’s a deep sense of processing and the digestion of your lived experiences and emotional responses. As that happens, you find yourself gaining greater clarity, resolution, and a stronger sense of what action to take.
For those who have spent much of their lives numbing their emotions or lacking self-awareness, the changes may not be as immediately obvious. However, as they continue with their practice, their awareness expands, and they begin to recognize the progress unfolding within their body and mind.
I offer both in-person and online sessions. Remote sessions can be done from anywhere in the world as long as you have access to a phone or the internet. I travel frequently, spending time in Northern Idaho, New York City, the San Francisco Bay Area, and Kansas City, and I plan to expand to Europe and return to Sri Lanka before long.
Working remotely allows us to connect no matter where you are, but if we happen to be in the same location, in-person sessions are an option. The in-person sessions are far more powerful, as I’m able to incorporate the healing practices I learned during my training with a traditional Native American doctor (medicine man).
Yes. The practices I teach will enable you to “digest” your lived experiences and emotional responses, diffusing anxiety and other distressing emotions. This helps you move into a calmer, more resourceful state—so you’re better equipped to navigate challenges and address the issues that need your attention.
Most meditation apps provide a superficial experience—they may help you relax momentarily, but they don’t facilitate the deep emotional processing necessary for real transformation. You're following a generic and superficial series of instructions, rather than actively engaging with your own inner being.
When I work with people, I tune into their specific emotional wounds, struggles, and areas where they lack the internal resources needed to function and live fully. I guide individuals to engage their body and mind’s innate healing intelligence, helping them digest their lived experiences, past trauma, and adversity. This isn’t just about relaxation—it’s about transforming pain into fuel for growth, gaining crucial insights, and becoming more embodied and higher-functioning in daily life.
Absolutely. Many people struggle with sitting still—especially in today’s world, where digital media and constant stimulation have altered the biochemical makeup and neurostructure of our brains. I’ve dealt with restlessness myself, and I’ve learned how to use that resistance as a doorway to access deeper states rather than fighting against it.
If you find it difficult to sit, I can show you how to work with that restlessness instead of letting it derail your practice. Some of the people I work with prefer the walking meditation I teach, which allows for movement while still accessing deep states of awareness. I’m happy to adapt the practice to your needs and help you find the best approach for your unique experience.
I ask that you provide at least 48 hours’ notice if you need to reschedule or cancel a session. This allows me to accommodate other students. Refunds and cancellations will be handled on a case-by-case basis.
Yes, meditation does bring emotions to the surface—this is an essential part of the healing process. When emotions remain trapped within the body, they perpetuate emotional wounding, keeping you locked in a dysfunctional holding pattern. This often leads to psychological distress and, over time, can take a toll on your physical health, manifesting as some form of pathology.
During these sessions, I’ll teach you how to work effectively with your emotional responses, rather than being overwhelmed by them. You will learn to diffuse and digest these emotions, transforming them into fuel for growth. As this happens, you’ll be healing the trauma, growing stronger, more resilient, and becoming better equipped to handle the challenges of daily life.
Not at all. The meditation practices I teach are entirely practical and adapted to address your specific needs and concerns. I work with people from all kinds of religious and spiritual backgrounds, as well as those who have none.
My focus is on providing you with a valuable set of tools to help you manage your emotions more effectively, diffuse stress, heal trauma and other emotional wounding, grow stronger, and develop greater resilience. Through this work, you become more resourceful, deeply embodied in your authentic self, and better equipped to handle life’s many challenges.
Absolutely! Ideally, longer sessions will produce greater benefits, but if you're working and commuting long hours, juggling work and school, parenting young children, or managing some combination of these, even five to ten minutes intervals throughout your day or evening can make a significant difference. I’ll help you integrate the practices I teach in a way that fits into your life realistically and sustainably.
While the practices I teach do facilitate deep relaxation, they go far beyond that. This work is about dissolving layers of chronic stress, gaining access to and digesting the emotions held within your body—many of which have operated outside of your conscious awareness for years. As you process these emotions, you gain greater insight and clarity, leading to the resolution of issues you’ve struggled with for a long time.
Opening up this additional bandwidth initiates growth—more of your mind, brain, and body become activated, and more resources become available to you. You feel more engaged, your senses sharpen, and your awareness of yourself, others, and your surroundings deepens. As this happens, you become more capable, with an expanded range of motion—not just physically, but mentally and emotionally as well.
If at all possible, get adequate rest beforehand. It’s okay to eat, but keep it light—some people choose to fast before sessions, though it’s not required.
Avoid refined sugar, processed foods, alcohol, pot, or other recreational drugs, as they can interfere with your ability to be fully present.
Aside from that, simply find a quiet space where you feel comfortable. If it’s an online session, make sure you have a stable phone or internet connection so we can work without interruptions.
If you have any specific concerns or goals, feel free to share them with me beforehand. This will help us make the most of your session.
The best way to get started is to call me at 332)(333-5155—or better yet, call and send a message to ensure I receive it. The work I do is highly personalized, so we’ll set up a time to talk, discuss your needs, and see if this is the right fit for you. If we choose to move forward, we’ll schedule your first session.
